Travel to Bern, Switzerland

A ‘beary’ beautiful city

The Capital of Switzerland, Bern is a modest and charming surprise. Founded in 1191, the city holds a deep history and its whole Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a devastating fire in 1405, what has been rebuilt and remains, is a true gem of medieval architecture, with 6 kilometers of limestone buildings, narrow arcades and quirky colorful fountains. One of the city’s most important sights is the Zytglogge astronomical clock tower, built in 1530, as well as the Cathedral of Bern, serving as Switzerland’s most significant church from the Late Middle Ages. Visit the Rose Garden for sweeping views of the Old Town and walk amongst the flowery sweet aromas. The bear has served as the symbol of the city since its very beginning and have even kept real bears in the city since the 1500’s. Say hello to bears, Björk and Finn at the Büren Park, where they play, fish and climb on the beautiful slopes of the Aare River.
