Travel to Berlin, Germany

Be moved by a city that has seen it all

Berlin proves that over time wounds may be healed, but scars remain as an important reminder. Battered and bruised from the World Wars, the people of Berlin have worked hard to rebuild their city, but have been left with heart-wrenching memories. Chills will be sent down your spine when you witness the remainder of The Berlin Wall and Check-Point Charlie. However, your heart will be warmed by the kindness of the people and their love for the weird and the whacky. Check out the colourful art on the wall at the East-Side Gallery and venture out into the night in Kreuzberg. Get there on a Sunday and enjoy the wonders of the Mauerpark markets, with a variety of streets artists that will amuse even the coldest of hearts.

The airport is well integrated in Berlin’s transportation network:

If you are in Berlin, public transportation might seem a little confusing at first, with its numerous services. However, it’s not as complicated as it seems.
The most popular services are:
By U-Bahn:  this is the most efficient way to travel in Berlin and it runs over and underground. With more than 10 lines, it covers the major touristic highlights in the city. many of its stops are connecting stations for travelling out to other parts of the city, less touristic.
By S-Bahn: Less popular than the U-Bahn, but very useful for travelling to other areas in the city, outside the centre, or to the districts in the outskirts.
By bike: Bikes are very handy for getting across town on your own rhythm. Many hotels have bike rental services.
Prices usually start from €6 per day. There are bike rentals and designated bike lanes all across the city.
By Ferry: In the summertime, you might want to consider the option to discover the city by ferry.
